The rain was coming down hard on the roof of the car as we sat, quietly weighing our options. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea after all. I looked at my watch - it was well past midnight. I'd pulled up above a busy multi-lane highway and we could hear cars whizzing by below. It was surprisingly busy, but I knew that most people out at this hour were returning from clubs or parties. Probably drunk. A few minutes earlier we'd driven past a couple of guys thrashing each other, right on the sidewalk. This was not the best place or time to do a nude photo shoot... Marlene was sitting next to me, still dressed. But she knew the drill, this wasn't our first time. In fact, over the past years we'd done thousands of photos together, often in the most unlikely places. But doing it "on location" never seemed to get any easier - it wasn't like in a studio where everything could be more or less totally controlled. Here, things were uncertain. Someone could turn up unexpectedly, anything could go wrong. But we were creating something that no one else had dared, doing new things. Sometimes we just had to stop and pause at the risk involved. My camera gear was lying on the seat behind me. We'd been waiting to see if any cars would turn into our side street, but none had for several minutes. We could have done the whole shoot already and gotten away clean! Marlene shivered slightly - was she cold or nervous? It was quite simple, really: she had to get out of the car totally nude and I had to snap some quick pics of her. Her only "prop" would be an umbrella, the downtown street her stage.
